STAIR in Florida - Englewood

The S.T.A.I.R. program in Englewood Florida is approximately 13 or 14 years old. The Community Presbyterian Church partners this wonderful program with the Englewood Elementary School to rave reviews from the second grade teachers there. We currently have three Directors who oversee the program, coordinate with the school and help out the tutors and children with their program needs. We have 14 tutors who volunteer on Tuesday and Thursday, after school, at the CPC Church hall.  Some of the tutors share one child, but most teach both days. We also have 5 volunteer tutors willing to substitute for our regular tutors when necessary. Four van drivers escort the children to the CPC facility from the school and escort them home or to their after school programs when the program is over.  We hope to have 10 students participate this year.  These children are currently being identified by the school’s Reading Teacher. Our program is scheduled to begin on November 11 and will run through March 24.
