STAIR helps increase academic success. So what does this mean for the business community? Plenty. Businesses have to worry about the development of the workforce of tomorrow. When the future workforce has inadequate education, businesses lose money. Unfortunately, too many graduates lack basic skills in reading, much less more advanced skills in creative thinking, problem solving and technology. If future workers come out the end of the “education pipeline” unable to meet even basic standards, businesses bear the cost. The STAIR Program enters the child's life early, before the problem becomes acute providing one-on-one tutoring over the course of a year using volunteer tutors to get the children back on track, to help them succeed rather than fail, and to nurture an enthusiasm for school and the learning process. In short, STAIR helps them become proficient readers who can ultimately contribute to building a sustainable society.

So businesses should ask themselves not what will it cost to invest in STAIR, but what will it cost not to?

Any business can Sponsor a STAIR site. We have 28 sites to choose from throughout Orleans, Jefferson and Plaquemines Parishes. We simply ask that one person be designated as the primary contact for your sponsorship.
- $7,500  To Sponsor a Site for the entire school year.
- $3,750  To Sponsor a Site for a half year/one semester.

As a sponsor you will receive:

• Signage at the site you choose showing your company’s name/logo as the site sponsor
• Your company’s name/logo on all printed student/tutor materials used at the site (including the volunteer handbooks, tutor guides and students workbooks) as well as on the STAIR website, in our newsletters and annual report.
• Student’s creative writing sample. 
• Updates on the STAIR program.
